Itineraries

Day 1

Time : 6:00 am

Colombo / Yala

After a representative from Seerendipity Tours meets you at 6:00 a.m., head towards Yala. While travelling,

Galle
With a history spanning hundreds of years, Galle is an old harbour city. The tenant of Sir James said that Galle was the "Tarshish" mentioned in the Bible, the port where ships trading with King Solomon acquired spices, aromatic woods, ivory, and gemstones. Undoubtedly, the location of the current Galle fort and adjacent Galle neighbourhoods have historical ties that date back well beyond the Portuguese era. Galle was home to a diverse group of people who traded, including Malay people, South Indian traders, Persians, international dealers, and moor traders from the Persian Gulf.

Project to conserve sea turtles
The non-governmental sea turtle conservation centre is the first place you'll see on this excursion. The volunteers gathered here from all over the world will educate you about sea turtles and you will be able to observe numerous types of endangered sea turtles.

The Madu River Estuary
The Bentota River is a well-liked river for boat excursions and one of the most visited sites on the west coast. A sizable area of mangrove forest and a variety of animal species, including crocodiles, monkeys, snakes, lizards, and others, can be seen here.

Hikkaduwa Marine Sanctuary and Beach
The magnificent underwater environment of Hikkaduwa, which is home to numerous unique fish species as well as a coral reef, may be seen during a 30-minute glass bottom boat tour.

The Katharagama Temple
Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists are in awe of the Kataragama temple. Located in the deep south of Sri Lanka, next to the well-known Ruhuna Yala National Park and the historic Sithulpawwa Buddhist Monastery, Kataragama is the domain of God Skanda (Lord Murugan Katirkaman, Kadirkamam, Subrahmanya, Kandasamy, Kadiradeva, Katiradeva, Katiravel, Karttikeya, and Tarakajith). It is a multireligious sacred city that is home to an Islamic mosque, a Buddhist temple, a Hindu shrine, and an Islamic mosque. One of the solosmasthanas (Sinhala: 16 major sites of Buddhist pilgrimage), Kataragama has been mentioned in history dating back to the time of the Hero of the Nation, King Dutugamunu (161–137 BC). The great historical chronicle of Sri Lanka, Mahawamsa, describes the involvement of warriors from the Kshatriyas clan from Kataragama on the occasion of the Bo sapling of the Bodhi Tree's arrival in Bodh Gaya (the Gaya district of the modern state of Bihar, India), which was brought to the city of Anuradhapura 2,300 years ago.

Mask museum
You will be making a stop at the Ambalangoda mast museum and Moonstone mines right before the Hikkaduwa marine reserve.

Anglers in a bent position: a distinctive kind of fishing that is exclusive to southern Sri Lanka. With a bird's-eye view of the underwater surface, the fishermen continue to fish with their rods while perched on a pole set on the sea floor.

Staying overnight in Yala

Day 2

Time : 5:00 am

Yala / Galle/ Colombo

Get up early and head to Yala National Park for a full day of safari.

Yala National Park
With an expanse of 97880 hectares, Yala is the largest national park in Sri Lanka and is also regarded as one of the oldest. It started out as a hunting area when the British were in charge of Sri Lanka. It's said that hunting in Yala was an expensive activity. Yala became a safe haven for animals in 1900 when it was designated as a national park due to the sharp decline in animal populations brought about by hunting.

Yala is separated into five zones and is the second-largest national park. In terms of biodiversity, Yala is in a significant position. Yala is well-known for having an abundance of wildlife, including bears, monkeys, deer, wild boar, elephants, and leopards.

Yala is regarded as one of the world's best locations to see leopards. In Yala National Park, there were 17.7 ½ leopards per 100 square kilometres. With a density of one leopard every two square kilometres, Block 1 of Yala National Park may contain the densest population of leopards in the whole globe. Sri Lankan leopards are active throughout the day, in contrast to those in most other national parks, where they are only seen at night. following Safari's departure for the Colombo hotel.

The tour has come to an end.

  1. Bernadine:

This Sri Lanka tour, despite being brief, was jam-packed with incredible vistas and opportunities to observe the bustling nature of daily life in the locations we visited. In addition, we were able to interact with the locals, sample their delectable cuisine, and gain a wealth of knowledge about each location. Extensively suggested excursion!

  2. Ronda:

Our remarkable expedition into the multifaceted landscape of Sri Lanka was largely facilitated by our chauffeur, Jayweera. His valuable perspectives significantly enhanced our expedition, imparting not only intriguing information regarding the history and culture of Sri Lanka but also practical guidance on how to schedule our time in the most efficient manner. This enabled us to completely engage in the unique experiences that each destination had to offer. We were apprehensive about traversing the treacherous roads of Sri Lanka prior to our journey. On the contrary, Jayweera tailored our itinerary to ensure that we had the most time possible on the road, allowing us to fully appreciate the sights and noises of this breathtaking nation. Jayweera’s unwavering dedication to ensuring our safety and delivering an unforgettable travel experience was genuinely praiseworthy. Our tour was drastically improved by his contributions, which transformed it into an indelible experience; we would unwaveringly endorse both him and the excursion.

  3. Nizam:

Sri Lanka’s southern tour was excellent. We were very happy with the program and it was consisting of a large number of important places like wildlife parks, temples, beaches, forts and many more. We were lucky to spot 2 leopard cubs and their mother in Yala, I never forget it. It was first seen by our jeep driver. I believe they have specially trained eyes to spot animals that are not clearly seen with naked eyes. Special thanks to our guide Jehan, he did a fantastic trip.

  4. Amani Dharya:

After reaching teh hotel bit early on the 1st day we had a leisure walk in the surrounding areas of our hotel with Sama. We were suprised to see the natural beauty of the area with huge lake full of water, rice paddies, stupas, temple and every where it is lush green vegetation. Our guide sam voluntarily organized it and we enjoyed the village tour lit.

  5. Zieker zam:

Travelling on a bumpy road in the wildlife reserve was a bit strenuous but it was a very different yet interesting activity. We were so lucky to see a large number of animals during the day. Our jeep driver was very experienced and it seems like he already knew where the animals are roaming in the park.

  6. Tania gurang:

The two days with an excellent blend of tourist places like wildlife reserves, pristine beaches, temples and beautiful village. Our guide Malan was very good and helpful.

The south coast tour was great with a closer look at nice beaches and a lot of time for leisure. There should be a little bit more time to relax on the beach. The wildlife tour was also good. 31. Shankar pereira:

We had a full day magical safari on a Jeep and really enjoyed it. Our guide picked us from Colombo and took us to the Yala Park. Along the way, we had looked into pristine beaches, Madu estuary, Galle fort and many other places. We were lucky to spot 2 leopards, dozens of elephants, a couple of deers, monitors, buffaloes, crocodiles and jackal and few other creatures. I think it is pretty easy to spot wild animals here, perhaps because the park is small compared to many other big players in Africa. However, It’s a nice well kept spacious park. If I ever return to Sri Lanka again I’ll make sure we get a few days to explore this area.

  32. Stefan munsi:

This 2 days tour was fantastic and mainly the wildlife tour was simply unforgettable. Pask was not crowded as usual. We saw elephants, leopards, mongooses, wild boar, water buffalo, crocodiles and lots of beautiful birds.

Excellent 2 days with Jagath, our driver/guide.

It is not long since the park is opened after the COVID-19 lockdown. We just concluded our safari trip and had a very memorable experience. Our guide Saman and driver Sakur was simply wonderful, kind and a very patient and good driver. He did a good job of staying away from the crowd as we took different routes where it was just us for most of the time. The result was an unforgettable experience…highly recommended.

  36. christopher lemanski:

Highly impressed with the trip arrangements. Very good guide and the tour was excellent with him. We were lucky to visit most major tourist places within 2 days. I hear that usually, tour operators offer Yala safari and Galle trip separately, however, we could visit both places in one trip and saved a lot of time and money too. Our driver was wonderful, the guides were perfect, food was great, We saw lots and lots of animals, especially 2 Leopards.
