Sri Lanka is still safe to travel and therefore Sri Lankan borders are open to travellers. However, the tourists have to follow the safety protocol introduced by the health authorities. All tourist facilities operate under stringent safety guidelines issued by the government. The travellers. who wish to enter the island should fulfil the following requirements.
- Should carry a negative PCR test result issued not more than 72 hours old
- Travellers should have booked a Levele-1 hotel
- Should have applied and received a tourist visa through www.eta.gov.lk

Especial note: Mandatory quarantine for tourists
The tourists, who are arriving on the island after a negative PCR test report will be directed to a mandatory 14 days quarantine period from 21/01/2021 onward. During this period their will 3 PCR tests, if all PCR tests come with negative results the tourists can move around the island without any restriction. The tourists should stay only the designated hotels by the Sri Lanka tourism authority. The tourist visa is issued only through the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
