A visit to Anuradhapura's temples, museums, dagobas, forts, stupas, and numerous other historic sites is highly recommended (UNESCO world heritage site).

Anuradhapura
Anuradhapura's history dates back to the eighth century BC, according to recent excavations. or 2800 B.P. Legends, however, extend the timeline beyond 3000-5000 years. Sri Lanka was home to four tribes at the time (Ramayana being one of them). The kingdom began in 380 B.C. and lasted for 1,500 years. Many of Sri Lanka's oldest and most impressive monuments are located in this city. a well-liked pilgrimage site for Sinhalese Buddhists due to the abundance of historic Buddhist structures.

King Pandukabhaya established Anuradhapura as the royal capital in 380 BC. Up to the year 1000 AD, it served as both the royal capital and the home of 119 successive Singhalese monarchs. After that, the capital was transferred to Polonnaruwa. You will witness remnants of palaces, temples, monasteries, ceremonial baths, and the temple of the sacred Bo tree, in addition to some of the most well-known and tallest dagobas in all of Sri Lanka. This tree was raised from a sampling of the same tree that the Buddha attained enlightenment under over 2500 years ago. All of these locations are included in our hop-on, hop-off Anuradhapura City Tour.

• Jethavanaramaya: a revered World Heritage monument that at one point housed almost 3,000 monks. It resembles Abhayagiri quite a bit as well.

Day 3

Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Sigiriya

Leaves for Polonnaruwa and the first Sigiriya rock castle after an early breakfast. Morning: Scale the well-known Sigiriya rock fortification and see the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Rocky House, and the Water Gardens.

Sigiriya
Sigiriya is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, close to the town of Dambulla, in the central Matale District. The name alludes to a historically and archaeologically significant location that is dominated by a gigantic rock column that rises to a height of around 200 meters (660 feet). The Culavamsa, an old Sri Lankan chronicle, states that King Kasyapa (477–495 CE) chose this location for his new capital. On top of this rock, he constructed his palace and painted vibrant frescoes on its walls. He constructed a doorway in the shape of a massive lion on a little plateau that is located roughly halfway up the side of this rock. The Lion Rock, or Sīhāgiri, is the structure from which this location gets its name. Following the king's passing, the capital and the royal palace were deserted. Right up until the fourteenth century, it served as a Buddhist monastery.

Later, explore the old city of Polonnaruwa in the early afternoon. The duration of the Polonnaruwa city tour is roughly two hours.

Polonnaruwa
The second-oldest city in Sri Lanka is Polonnaruwa. Following Anuradhapura, it was designated as Sri Lanka's capital. After defeating the Chola invaders in 1070 to bring the country back together under a native ruler, King Vijayabahu I established Polonnaruwa as the capital city, making it the second-oldest kingdom in Sri Lanka.

As a testament to the rigour and grandeur of the Kingdom's founding kings, the ancient city of Polonnaruwa is still one of the best-planned archaeological relic sites in the nation. Its splendor was also used as a setting for sequences in the 1982 Duran Duran music video Save a Prayer. UNESCO has designated the historic city of Polonnaruwa as a World Heritage Site.

The city tour is a wonderful sample of Sri Lankan historical workmanship and includes palaces, dagobas, and temples. During your three-hour guided tour of the Polonnaruwa Ancient City, you will see some of the following sights:
The most renowned and talented builder of the time, King Parakramabahu, resided at the Royal Palace; Nissankamulla Palace is a royal audience hall featuring remarkable brickwork.
• Gal Viharaya (home to some of the nation's top rock carvings)
• Image houses in Thuparama and Lankathilaka (excellent examples of vaulted shrine rooms)
• Vatadage (offers a glimpse of what a fully realized vatadage would have seemed like)
• The Parakramabahu Statue (a statue depicting one of the greatest monarchs of ancient Sri Lanka) • Rankoth Vehera (Polonnaruwa's largest stupa)

A trip to Minneriya safari
One of the most popular national parks in the country, Minneriya is regarded as one of the greatest locations in Sri Lanka for a safari. During the three to four hours of the Minneriya safari, you will have the chance to see crocodiles, elephants, wild buffalo, and a variety of other animals, in addition to many bird species.

The Activities Included

Day 4

Sigiriya / Kandy

After breakfast, head to your hotel in Kandy. Along the way, make stops at the stunning Hindu temples in Matale, Muttumari Amman Temple, and Dambulla Golden Temple.

In the afternoon, you will go on a Kandyan cultural presentation and visit the temple housing the venerable tooth relic as part of your city trip.

"The Golden Temple of Dambulla"
A South Indian invasion forced the king of Anuradhapura to flee the city in the first century BC, and he sought safety in the Dambulla caves. After 13 years, the king restored Anuradhapura and gave the Buddhist monks the caves, which were now a monastery.

The herb/herbal garden
Herb garden One of the most well-liked tourist destinations in Matale is to view local herbs used in Ayurveda as well as spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and pepper.
time: two hours.

The Kandy Lake
Along with visiting the gem lapidary and market square, you will also take a trip around the upper lake.

Temple of the Precious Tooth Relic
In Kandy, Sri Lanka, there is a Buddhist temple called Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. It is situated within the former Kingdom of Kandy's royal palace complex, which also holds the tooth Buddha relic. Because it is thought that whoever owns the relic controls national governance, the relic has been significant to local politics since ancient times. Partly because of the temple, Kandy, the final capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The National Museum of Kandy
Situated near the revered Temple of the Tooth, the Kandy National Museum was established in 1942 and occupies a portion of the Royal Palace that was once occupied by the King's concubines. Among the more than 5,000 items on display at this museum are the golden crown of King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe II and a copy of the 1815 treaty known as the "Kandyan Convention," which ended 2,357 years of monarchy when Ceylon was handed to the British on March 2, 1815.

The center for arts and crafts in Kandy
An essential component of Sri Lanka's old cultural legacy is arts and crafts. In several regions of the island, traditional Sri Lankan crafts such as wood carving, mask and drum making, mat weaving, handlooms, lac work, rush and read items, etc., are important enterprises.

The Activities Included
Visits to the Golden Temple in Dambulla, the Tooth Relic Temple in Kandy, the Spice and Herbal Garden in Matale, the Muttumari Amman Temple in Matale, the Kandyan cultural display, and the Kandy city tour are all worth doing.

Kandy/ Bentota

Bid farewell to Kandy this morning as you head to the west coast beach resort of Bentota in your private vehicle. The trip will take around five hours. When you get to Galle/Bentota, check in to your lodging, which is located on a beach on the west coast, and enjoy your free time.

The Garden of Royal Botany
Morning: Visit the most well-known garden on the island, the Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya, which has an orchid house, palm alley, bamboo avenue, spice garden, flowering plant collection, and verandah collection, after visiting the elephant orphanage.

The elephant orphanage in Pinnawala
In 1975, the first orphanage specifically for Jumbos was established. covers an area of nine hectares close to the Kumbukan Oya river, where elephants bathe. While the elephants play, bathe, and enjoy the water, you will be led to the bathing area.

The tea factory
You can taste excellent Sri Lankan tea and learn everything there is to know about picking and processing tea on a visit to a tea estate. If you enjoy tea, this is definitely a far more thrilling possibility, but even if you don't, you should still visit the Hill Country, often known as Tea Country, as it is undoubtedly the most picturesque region on the island.

There are undulating hills covered in row after row of lush green tea plantations. It's frequently covered in a light mist and, should you need one, is the ideal way to get away from the scorching beaches of Sri Lanka.

Day 6

Galle/ Mirissa

In the event that the whale viewing tour is unavailable because of choppy seas, you will only be able to participate in the Galle Four excursion, which lasts three hours.

Mirissa
Despite the fact that blue whales are thought to be migrating mammals, tourists have spotted them in Mirissa for many years. While blue whales frequent this area on a daily basis, fin and Bryde's whale sightings are also noted a few days per month. Only in March and April are sperm whale pods typically spotted around Mirissa for a few days at a time. There are also occasional sightings of short-finned pilot whales and killer whales.

Salute
The population of the fort is multiethnic and multireligious, and it has a vivid past. Making this one of the modern marvels of the world is the goal of the Sri Lankan government and numerous Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort. Inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, the fort's heritage value has been acknowledged by UNESCO for its exceptional display of "an urban ensemble that illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries."

Galle Fort
The population of the fort is multiethnic and multireligious, and it has a colorful past.

The Boxing Day tsunami damaged a portion of the Galle town's coastline, but the Galle Fort—also known as the Dutch Fort or the "Ramparts of Galle"—resisted the wave. Since then, it has been fixed. Situated close to the Dutch Reformed Church, the Galle Fort is also home to the upscale Amangalla resort hotel. Originally constructed in 1684, it was intended to accommodate the Dutch Governor and his staff. In 1865, it was transformed into a hotel and given the name New Oriental Hotel, serving European travelers between that continent and Galle Port throughout the 1800s.

  1. Rusy melanka:

7-day Sri Lanka tour gave us the opportunity to visit a large number of places in sri lanka. The trip was well organized and the entire trip was very smooth. the hotels are good with rooms and good food.

  2. setson:

Well-worth the time and money spent for this trip. It provided a good summary of Sri Lanka. Driver jaya did a wonderful job. The tour felt a bit hurry at a time since there were many places to visit in a short period of time. However, it was carefull planned with good hotels, good guide, interetsing activities and time to unwind every day.

  3. machin Polcaz:

Our tour guide sara was entertaining and educational, showing us around a variety of fascinating cities, villages, historical and religious sites so we could see some of Sri Lanka’s most important tourist attractions. Our guide was entertaining and well informed, which made the journey worthwhile 😊.

  4. Amaki:

We did not receive any insights into the city. We started at the “hidden market” which wasn’t anything special. We walked through it without any explanation of anything, and listened to Moddy complain about the heat constantly.

  5. Gin rayan:

bandu was a great tour guide for our four-person family. It was really hot, but he let us cool off and did a great job showing us around and telling us about the nature, culture, wildlife, history of sri Lanka and the sites we saw. I really recommend Sri Lanak 7-day tour.

  6. Stephanie:

This trip went to most of Sri Lanka. We loved having a small group, and our guide, driver, and helper were all great. This tour covers a lot of what Sri Lanka has to offer when it comes to food and culture, so I think you should go on it.

  7. Ronn:

A few less temples and shopping, along with perhaps a few more activities, might have made for a better tour, but overall, we had a great time in Sri Lanka and thoroughly appreciated the amazing accommodation, meals and guiding.

  8. Andre:

The tour content was good but the crew that was conducting the trip was lacking in knowledge and service.

  9. Roos and Edwin:

    Good day,
I would really like to send you a thank you note. We enjoyed our holiday in Sri Lanka, which is partly thanks to the help and presence of Sameera. He is a thorough and helpful man. He showed us beautiful places and helped make our trip unforgettable. We had a very safe and rich feeling during the trip. I would wish everyone Sameera as a guide in Sri Lanka. Thanks for the match you made. Sameera is great!

Incredible Sri Lanka trip with many interesting activities and destinations. We had the best time with Seerendipity and want to thank ruwan, our 7-day driver/guide in Sri Lanka. Our first vacation in Sri Lanka would have been different without Ruwan and Seerendipity’s amazing tour. The optional whale viewing tour was amazing, and the boat staff made sure we had an unforgettable experience. We met amazing people in Sri Lanka, especially the gorgeous, smiling youngsters, and have many nice memories.

  14. Anita:

Wow, what a wonderful tour! During our 7-day trip to Sri Lanka, my friends and I hoped to learn about the culture, see the country’s amazing natural beauty, and see some of its native wildlife. We were happy with the result! Even though we didn’t have much time, we were able to do a lot of different things. For example, we went on car safaris and saw a large number of famous elephants. We also climbed the stunning Sigiriya Rock and enjoyed the beautiful views on the train ride to the charming town of Nuwara eliya.

During our wonderful 7-days Sri Lanak trip, we saw whales off the coast of Mirissa and put baby turtles into the water on the beaches of Bentota, both of which will stay with us forever. Without our great guide Gayan, none of this would have been possible. It was great that he shared his knowledge of Sri Lanka’s culture, history, and animals with us and found ways for us to get front-row seats and skip lines wherever we wanted.

  18. Jimmy:

Malan went above and beyond with how nice and positive he was. He made me feel like he was part of the family, and I even cried when we had to say goodbye. Thanks a lot to malan, Seerendipity, and their wonderful staff, who planned our trip, for making it so great! ❤🙏

  31. Sichein:

We timed our ‘Feels sri lanak tour’ to take place right after our arrival in Sri Lanka. The meeting was perfectly planned and our guide was waiting for us early in morning at teh airport. Our guide, Sam, introduced us to the large number of important tourist places in Sri Lanka like temple, national parks, beaches, hill country cities, botanical gardens and beautiful countryside. We were blown away! With an easy manner and great knowledge of the history, culturein of Sri Lanka and how it related to other works I’m modern Sri Lanka, it was a wonderful trip

For people who like privacy and independence, this is an excellent tour. 35. Frank:

As an avid traveler my expectations were more than fulfilled.

Our guide Yohan was fantastic and gave us information at anytime we required it.

We have just returned from Srilanka after a memorable trip, “feel Sri lanka” ( Departure: 02.02.2020). Our expectation was to discover and enjoy some of the history, culture, nature and wildlife within a short period of time. The trip was included with lots of local colour of Srilanka cultural sites and we were not let down at all….

  99. David James:

    Fantastic trip of Sri Lanka

  100. Michael:

Sri Lanka for Americans from Chicago is distant so we receive limited marketing and reaching Colombo is a time consuming. The island is like Hawaii 40 years ago and with elephants. I was sincerely amazed at the geography, people and food. Engage Sri Lanka on Holiday and get out into the rural areas and tea plantations. As an avid traveler my expectations were more than fulfilled.

  101. Grace Lu:

Feel Sri Lanka trip will give you a wonderful insight into Sri Lanka. We loved visitng ancient temples, palaces, garden and stupas. Sri Lanka countryside very clean and full of green. at teh beginning the trip was packed with ancient monuments allowing us to , admiring beautiful architecture and learning more about sri lanka’s fascinating history, culture and it’s people. Everything was organised to perfection so that we could see things that you couldn’t easily organise independently. Excellent trip and highly recomedable.

  102. Jonathan:

We just wanted to get a ‘taste’ of Sri Lanka, but after the feel Sri Lanka trip, I want to explore and see more about this amazing tropical island. I haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. The trip was organized perfectly. Thank you.

  104. JEFF:

The trip includes a train journey along the coast, it was good but nothing much special about it. It could have been great I was informed that hill country train trip is the most popular Sri Lanka train journey and most beautiful, unfortunately we missed it.

  105. Ellen:

I absolutely plan on writing a review of this trip, but think it is only fair to first give you the opportunity to right my complaints and issues with the trip. I noticed the trip is now about $200 USD cheaper even though December and January are getting into high season. . . This seems a far more fair price to pay for the experience and I ask that I be refunded this amount.

  106. Lisa:

Sri Lanka is an amazing country with great culture, fascinating wildlife, nature and brilliant beaches. Prabarth as our personal guide did a great job and we anjoyed the trip a lot. Felt safe and well looked after at all times. Temples, tea plantations, treks and tasty, tasty food that you won’t forget in a hurry.

  107. Fatima Ahmed:

Train trip along the coast was good but nothing much special about it. It could have been great I was informed that hill country train trip is the most popular Sri Lanka train journey and most beautiful, unfortunately we missed it.

  108. Qinqua Lin:

High recommend this trip. Everything about it was amazing. It is the perfect trip to see the highlights of Sri Lanka!

  109. Udioma mendosa:

Feel Sri Lanka covered a diverse section of the country, from ancient ruins, amazing cave paintings, tea plantations, beach, but the highlight for me was doing a safari into Minneriya National Park, where we saw 200 elephants. The weather in December was a bit wet but we managed to cover all of the itinerary bar the first day of the hike which was mostly uphill & lots of steps, not relatively flat like the itinerary said.

  110. Jina wolpert:

Amazing Sri Lanka trip with good hotels, food, and very informative guide. Our guise Kusum went above and beyond the call of duty, organizing things for us to do even on his day off. You will not be disappointed. Amazing.
