Bentota
Bentota beach is the most popular beach holiday destination on the island. The unique location of Bentota beach resort is one important reason for its popularity as a beach holiday destination. Bentota resort is located on an island and the island is connected with the mainland at its southern border. Bentota is mainly comprised of a narrow strip of land that spreads along the north-south axis. Unlike most other islands, Bentota is surrounded by both sea and river. One side of the island is the Bentota River while the western side of Bentota is flanked by the Indian Ocean. Large numbers of hotels are built in this narrow strip of land enabling the travellers to have a peaceful atmosphere during the holiday. You can a book a hotel in Bentota through Seerendipity Tours at a very affordable rate online.

Endangered sea turtle conservation project
Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays her eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubates in the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fishermen and sold to people who consume them. But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and are hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas where the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up and the babies are let into the sea after two days at night time which offers them a better chance of survival.

Madu River Safari
In the global context, the ecological importance of this site has garnered it the ‘Ramsar Wetland’ status in 2003 being the second largest wetland in Sri Lanka with a colossal 915 hectares with 23 islands inhabited by nearly 300 families. The River Sanctuary is now a Tourist Development Area and a Special Area Managed (SAM) by the Coast Conservation Department. Balapitiya is where the ‘Madu Ganga’ makes its home.

City tour Galle
Galle is one of the ancient seaports of Sri Lanka and was an anchor point in the Silk Route. It was later discovered by the Portuguese where they built a fortress and the Dutch that succeeded them fortified it further. This fortress is today a World Heritage Site.

Galle Fort
The fort has a colourful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population. The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, for its unique exposition of "an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

The Galle Fort, also known as the Dutch Fort or the "Ramparts of Galle", withstood the Boxing Day tsunami which damaged part of the coastal area of Galle town. It has been since restored. The Galle Fort also houses the elite Amangalla resort hotel, located near the Dutch Reformed Church. It was originally built in 1684 to house the Dutch Governor and his staff. It was then converted into a hotel and named then as the New Oriental Hotel in 1865, which catered to the European passengers travelling between Europe and Galle Port in the 19th century.

You will be returning to your hotel in Colombo or in any other place on the west coast ay around 05.00 PM.

  1. Manroof:

It is an incredible experience to go on safari.Numerous elephants were seen by us.They provided us with services that were both safe and humble. Both my family and I had a wonderful time.Strongly suggested for use.Tours provided by Udawalawe Safari Jeep.

  2. Celina:

All the way through to the end, we had a wonderful time! Prompt and open communication was maintained throughout. Our driver arrived promptly at the appointed time. He was quite warm and polite to everyone. Whenever we saw something or even moved our arms to take a picture, he responded in a way that was surprisingly timely and responsive. He brought the Jeep to a halt until we had had enough of what we were looking at, and then he continued driving. Our group was joined by a volunteer guide while we were on the safari. The two of them witnessed an incredible amount of things. We learned a great deal about the creatures, and they worked together in a way that was completely harmonious. The most important element that we valued was the openness regarding the prices. When compared to our accommodation, which appears to be the standard markup for safaris, booking with Udewalawe Safari Tours saved us well than one hundred dollars.

  3. Melani:

The encounter was quite enjoyable. Together with my pals, I had a wonderful time.During the night, we remained in the park. In addition, our driver is a very kind and cool chap. The behaviour of animals was further explained to us by him.His vision was like that of an eagle. We observed a variety of birds in addition to a large number of deer. We were able to capture more natural moments using our camera.Once again, many thanks, seerendipity.Best of luck

  4. sai von linden:

Enjoyable journey in the Uadawalawe National Park. The adventure that seerendipity takes is quite remarkable. There were elephants in close proximity to us. All kinds of birds were visible to us. The event was enjoyable for both me and my buddies. I extend an invitation to everyone to go there and talk about your experience. This is where Udawalawe Safari Jeep Tours shines the brightest.Have a wonderful time!

  5. Peter:

It was a wonderful safari in Udawalawe.

  6. Jon:

Interesting trip, lot of elephants and some crocodiles. The jeep tour through the wildlife park is very interesting. Never though that it was so easy to spot herds of elephants in the jungle.

  7. Dalia:

We booked the Udawalawe safari from Colombo and it was a nice trip, lot of travelling though

  8. Phillip:

We had an an amazing experience with Udawalawe safari. Our guide jaya was excellent. We were a bigger group and he perfectly managed to make a nice one day tour. Apart from the Udawalawe safari he showed us many interesting places in southern Sri Lanka like forts and beautiful beaches. 100% Recommendation – we had a great time!

  9. Kennedy:

Had a great one day trip of southern Sri Lanka with udawalawe safari. Great mix of off the beaten track sites and tourist sites.

  10. Amola seikhom:

After reading good reviews on Seerendipity website, we too were not disappointed with our wildlife safari of Udawalawe, and visiting Pinnawala elephant orphanage was a bonus for us, which was not highlighted in the trip itinerary. All arranged through Email and WhatsApp, very simple and very quick to respond. Great job Seerendipity.

  11. Edward wolf:

Keep in mind that entrance fees of the national park are not within the price.

  12. Martina fernandez:

It is a very bumpy drive in the park, but interesting. We could see many animals within a short period of time.

  13. Rizana:

We only stayed in Sri Lanka for 8 days and wanted to spend more time on the coast and time on the beach. So we wanted to make a maximum of 2 one day trips with maximum experience. Wild safari was one of our key interests. We contacted Seerendipity after got recommended by one of the friends who visited Sri Lanka early last year. We received a prompt reply to our request with few options with clear information. After a few email conversations, we selected Udawalawe & Galle tours as there are lots of attractions and few activities spreading over 2 days. Our driver Kapi Silva was a super guy with very friendly service and also he knows all the nice spots and things. Fully paid package and we did not have to worry about anything. They provided us with, a very nice modern sedan, which was nicely chilled during the midday. The wild safari was amazing, saw heaps of elephants and many kinds of birds.

  14. Tarun kanth:

We started the trip early morning from the hotel at 05.00. other than the early wake everything is good.

  15. Hannah peterson:

We have seen many animals during the 2 hours safari including elephants, deer, jackal, crocodile, wild boar etc.

  16. Linanado:

Super day with our exact expectation. Got picked up at 5 am as exactly as promised in the booking. Our driver Lakmal was very punctual and very knowledgeable. Visited Elephant Transit Home and witness milk feeding to Baby Elephants. It was so phenomenal to watch as all the elephant waited for their turn and some of the baby ones were so cute. Our wild safari was amazing as well. Our keep driver spotted all the animals and explain about them all the time. Great with nature and animals. Few groups of elephants; crocodiles; deers; wild buffalos; many kinds of local birds were seen in the forest. Huge thank to Seerendipity our driver Lahiru for making our day so amazing one. Highly recommend.

  17. Gabriel brown:

A lot of wild elephants never thought we could see such a large number of wild elephants in one place. Actually, you do not need to enter the park to see the elephant because you could see many of them even before entering the park.

  18. Emmie fernandez:

We booked the Udawalawe safari before we left England. It was an absolutely fantastic day out we hadn’t realised it was a private tour just for us so that was a bonus. Lakmal the manager rang us the evening before we went to confirm times and drivers name. We had Dinesh who was amazing he picked us up at 5 am and we got back after 6 pm. He pointed out lots of interesting facts on our journey too.

We decided we would book the Galle trip with seerendipity (https://seerendipitytours.com/itinerary/galle-city-tour-2/) to go on the following week so messaged Lakmal to see if we could book same driver and the vehicle and not do everything that was on the list and it was no problem. We did Galle fort then silk factory and tsunami museum which was all very interesting. We stopped to have some lunch in Hikkaduwa on the way back to hotel. Would highly recommend this company. If we come back to Sri Lanka again will certainly be using them. Thank you Seerendipity.

  19. Carleph Ibrahim:

Long drive from the beach hotel but did not feel as we started early morning. Interesting tour and our guide Gomez was very good.

  20. Mihael Arshad:
